Metal sculpture created for HaemO2 at Essex University
Stainless Steel, 1m x 55cm approx
Sculpture created for HaemO2 at Essex University to celebrate an award the biology team had won for their ground breaking fake blood research.
This laser-cut tubular steel sculpture was designed to stand on the round podium they had been allocated, and from itwas suspended mock blood bags with mock-product branded as if the product was already in manufacture.
The design was based on the haemoglobin molecule. Fake blood has multiple applications in the field during war and in crisis situations. It does not require refrigeration and is non-blood type specific.
